Rosedawn English China

Just a quick post.

I found this lovely Rosedawn pattern Johnson Brothers made in England set as my husband and I were out looking for pretties for the shop.

I was so surprised to come across such a large set. I am keeping a complete set for myself and have added pieces individually to the shop. (if you see some you like and would like to combine them let me know I am sure we can work something out) They will make a lovely set or lend themselves well to the shabby chic mix and match sets.

I have searched on line and have found very few and they are quite expensive. I have tried to keep the cost as low as I could. They are from around 1940 and are coming quite hard to find.

Thanks for stopping by. Until next time. Carol

Table Topper

I thought I would share with you today a table topper that I have started.

It has been in the works for awhile now. I cut the center piece knowing I wanted to make a table topper but put it away as I wasn't sure what I wanted to do for the boarder. Then I forgot about it.

The funny thing is that the boarder wasn't planned for it at all. I was cutting it up for another project and as I was adding it together I remembered the topper. So I pulled it out and started moving the pieces together  and  liked it. Then I started searching for material for the corner stones as the stripes wouldn't fit. There it was a mini version of the center. Quite a nice surprise I think.

On a different note I am starting a beginners crazy quilt class with Kathy Shaw. It starts today and I can't wait. I have been looking at all her pretty work as well as many more talented ladies and have wanted to try it but just hadn't taken the plunge. So I will be showing you the progress I will be making with that. Please no laughs.

Thanks for stopping by. Until next time. Carol

Another Quilt Started

I thought I would share with you another quilt I have started.

It is of dress forms. I made the pattern yes it is a very simple pattern but I really like the way it turned out. I only have the top done on this one.

I thought I would show a few close ups of a couple of the dresses. They are all decorated differently. I appliqued them and added some of the lace appliques that I make to dress them up.

Please stop by often as my game plan is to have these done by the summer. I will be showing the progress as I go.

Until next time. Carol

Unfinished Quilts

I have quite a few quilts I have to finish. I would like to get them done by this summer. So I thought I would show them to you in the different stages.

This one is almost finished. It just needs to be cut evenly around the edges and add a binding.
This is the back. It is all the colors of the front shades of pink and aqua. It has pink, grey and aqua cranes. As well as foliage.
Here is a closer look at the back.

I just want to show you a close up of the stitch I use to quilt it with. A star.

I will have more for you soon. Thanks for stopping by. Until next time. Carol
